Fernando Torres is confident that the goals will return to his game soon and it is 5/4 in the Premier League betting that he breaks his Chelsea duck in their next game away at Stoke.

There has been no dream start at Stamford Bridge for Torres since his £50m arrival from Liverpool as he is still waiting for a first goal despite making seven appearances in all competitions.

His cause has not been helped by a hatful of missed chances against Fulham, while defender David Luiz, who joined at the same time as Torres, has already endeared himself to the Chelsea faithful with two goals.

However, Torres is refusing to be too downbeat about his dry patch and insists that it will be over soon.

After joining up with the Spanish national team ahead of their Euro 2012 qualifier against Czech Republic, Torres said: “I am not anxious about the fact that I haven’t scored my first goal for Chelsea.

“This is an issue for the papers, not for me. It is more important that Chelsea win than I score.”

Ladbrokes are now running a specials market relating to when Torres will open his Chelsea account, but much will come down to whether manager Carlo Ancelotti continues to stick with him from the start or reverts to selecting Didier Drogba.

After Stoke is a home game with Manchester United in the Champions League and he is 5/2 to score his first goal in that game, while the best bet may be the 11/4 that he nets his first goal in Chelsea colours in their home encounter with Wigan.

The best overall Torres betting opportunity may be the 11/10 that he scores no more than three league goals this season in Chelsea’s final nine games.

Meanwhile, it is 2/7 that he scores his first goal before Luiz scores for Chelsea again.

A £20 stake on Torres grabbing his first goal against West Brom on April 16th would return £200. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of free bets totalling up to £60.
