Swansea v Liverpool: Rodgers’ men to be left feeling all shook up

Brendan Rodgers has called on the Swansea faithful to wear Elvis costumes to the Liberty for their final game of the season against Liverpool as a taunt to the pundits who said there was more chance of seeing The King than the Swans surviving in the Premier League.

A better way to rub their noses in it would be to record another famous victory after wins against Arsenal and Manchester City at home already this season.

However, Liverpool look to have found a bit of form recently and, after a mid-week mauling of Chelsea, they should have enough to see off the Swans…

Match odds

Liverpool are unsurprisingly the favourites at 1/1 to win this encounter.

Taken in the context of their convincing 4-1 victory over Chelsea in the week this appears to be a pretty meaty price considering the Swans haven’t been in the best form during the past few weeks and threw away a 4-2 lead against bottom side Wolves in their last home game.

However, the Swans have been impressive at home this term and have taken points off Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Man City, making them a tempting proposition at 12/5 to pick up three points that could propel them to a top half finish.

Goal markets

With the Swans shipping four against Wolves and Liverpool hitting three in their previous two Premier League away games, the Reds will be confident of finding the net.

Backing them to score 2-3 goals at 11/8 looks a punt well worth consideration.

Finally, Andy Carroll was brilliant in Liverpool’s win against Chelsea and found the net at the Liberty Stadium two seasons ago for Newcastle.

With the Swans struggling to defend the aerial threat then Carroll could be worth a punt at 5/1 to open the scoring.
