The new staggered system Uefa employed to stage the recent set of Euro 2016 qualifiers has earned a great deal of praise as it allowed fans to take in more games and players to produce more exciting football.

Some contributed more than most to such a brand of play though and those who have found form will be confident of reproducing their heroics when back playing for their clubs.

Here’s three such men, with their price to score at anytime attached:

Gylfi Sigurdsson @ 10/3 – Stoke v Swansea

The Swansea man was Iceland’s undisputed hero in a week where they trounced Latvia, then shocked the continent with a 2-0 win over Holland.

Sigurdsson, who has already scored three times in his return to south Wales, notched three of his country’s five goals in those two internationals and is a superb price to bag again when the Swans trek to the Potteries.

Paco Alcacer @ 8/5 – Deportivo v Valencia

Spain didn’t enjoy quite as fruitful a break as Iceland, but can be buoyed by the continued emergence of young striker Alcacer.

Starting on the bench for La Roja’s jaw-dropping defeat to Slovakia, the Valencia man scored the goal that looked to have sealed Spain a draw eight minutes from time.

Promoted to the starting XI for the next encounter against Luxembourg, the 21-year-old found the net again and has five goals at the Mestalla this season too.

Kyle Lafferty @ 23/10 – Fulham v Norwich

A pair of 2-0 wins over Faroe Islands and Greece saw Northern Ireland claim top spot in Group F after three games.

Norwich’s Lafferty contributed a strike in each game – to go with the one he bagged in the Green and White Army’s first qualifier – and will fancy his chances of opening his Canaries account at Craven Cottage.
