The move to Manchester City hasn’t really worked out for Wilfried Bony, and it seems more likely than not that the Ivory Coast forward’s time at the Etihad will cease this summer.

Signed for £28m by the Citizens from Swansea in January last year, Bony has failed to take his chances for the Sky Blues, despite Sergio Aguero’s absences through injury.

After firing in the goals for Swansea, Bony’s drop in form has left his City future in serious question, especially with the impending arrival of new boss Pep Guardiola this summer.

Bony netted 25 league goals in just 54 appearances for the Swans, who have failed to replace the 27-year-old’s goal threat, and only a late rally saw the Welsh club avoid a relegation scrap this term.

The future of current coach Francesco Guidolin is unclear, but chairman Huw Jenkins has stated that while finding a permanent manager for next season is a priority, he’s under no illusions that improvements to the squad are required.

The Swans may need to move quickly however, with West Ham also reportedly in the hunt to sign the striker.

Moving to the Olympic Stadium next season, the Hammers are aiming big, and Slaven Bilic’s first year boss has been a resounding success.

The east London club seem set to splash the cash this summer, so it remains to be seen if Swansea can compete in the transfer market.

West Ham are also reportedly courting Celta Vigo’s sought-after forward Nolito, potentially handing the Liberty Stadium outfit the advantage in the pursuit of Bony’s signature.

Ironically the pair meet this weekend, with Swansea making the trip along the M4 to London’s east end.

The Hammers are 1/2 favourites as they seek a top-four spot, while the visitors are 6/1 outsiders.

Swansea lost their last trip to Upton Park 3-1 last season, and guess who scored their goal that day?

Yup.
