Four points from seven league games is not ideal form at the business end of the season and as a result Stoke could be overpriced at 12/1 to be relegated from the Premier League.

Stoke’s slump in results has seen them slip to within four points of the relegation places and they are currently one of the most out of form sides in the Premier League, alongside Blackpool, Sunderland and Blackburn.

Each have struggled for victories of late and are getting drawn into the fight for survival in what is brewing up to be one of the most exciting relegation battles in many a season.

Anyone in the bottom half of the table will be looking nervously over their shoulders, but for whatever reason Stoke are a much bigger price than many of the teams around them.

Blackburn are only two points behind them, but are 3/1 in the Premier League betting to be relegated, while Birmingham are 2/1, despite only being four points behind and having two games in hand.

Form, desire and confidence can be just as important as squad quality at this time of the season and Stoke are seemingly lacking in at least two of these areas.

It has been away from home where Stoke have suffered the majority of their woes, losing their last six Premier League games on the road.

Therefore, they may be pleased to know that their next two fixtures are at the Britannia Stadium, where they are unbeaten in their last four league games.

It is largely possible that the closeness at the bottom of the table may mean that teams will require more than the 40 points commonly referred to as the safety line to stay up this season.

Stoke are on 34 points at present and will be hoping to secure at least four points from their two home games to substantially enhance their chances of avoiding relegation.

A £25 stake on Stoke being relegated from the Premier League this season would return £300. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
