Christian Benteke has had a terrible time at Liverpool since his £32.5m from Aston Villa in the summer.
The 25-year-old striker has only scored eight times in 34 appearances across all competitions, costing over £4m per goal.
His time at Anfield appears to be coming to an end, especially when considering comments he made earlier in the week.
“From the time Jurgen Klopp arrived, I felt it was going to be complicated for me. Even if I knew that he liked me.
“Some of my teammates even said to me that I was lucky to see Klopp arrive because I was practically certain to play.
“But in my head, and after what I experienced in my career, I said to myself that anything could happen. And I wasn’t mistaken,” said the Belgium international ahead of his nation’s friendly with Portugal.
To further put himself in Klopp’s bad books, Benteke said: “I don’t understand that they would say that I don’t suit his style of play.
“Pressing, to move, I know how to do it. It’s not like we were playing like Barcelona either.”
The forward’s lack of playtime and criticism of his manager has led to understandable questions over Benteke’s future and the Belgium international is sure to be on the move in the summer.
Ladbrokes make West Ham the 6/1 favourites to win the race for the striker’s signature, but the Liverpool man should consider another Premier League team.
Of all the sides priced up, Benteke would have the best time at the 10/1 outsiders Stoke City.
The Potters have scored less than any of the teams currently linked with Benteke.
The lack of firepower Mark Hughes has to call on would make the want wantaway Reds man a key part of Stoke’s setup.
There is no lack of creativity at the Britannia Stadium and the combination of Benteke, Bojan and Xherdan Shaqiri would surely be a prosperous one.
