Like being dumped on your birthday, Arsene Wenger’s 1,000th Arsenal game was a day of celebration he’d really rather forget as Chelsea thumped his side 6-0.

However, no matter how many times the Gunners have left their manager red faced this season, and there’s been a few, they’ve always managed to redeem themselves at the earliest possible opportunity.

That’s why it’s the 8/15 on Arsenal bouncing back with a win over Swansea, who are priced at 5/1, that should be taken as the best bet of the encounter.

The trophy-shy north Londoners have not lost two Premier League games since their consecutive defeats to Manchester City and Chelsea in January last season.

Despite being on the end of some tonkings this term, Arsenal have repeatedly defied the critics who label their minds as fragile and ready to disintegrate after every setback.

Six of Arsenal’s 10 defeats in all competitions this term have been followed up with wins, half of which have come in the top flight.

Of those six, four victories have come to nil and considering Swansea have scored just 14 goals in 15 away games in the league this term, the 13/8 about another Gunners triumph and clean sheet looks good value.

This isn’t the first time that Arsenal have had to dust themselves down from a drubbing and the trends from the previous two lead to a bet on a goalless draw.

The immediate games that followed Wenger’s heavy defeats to Man City and Liverpool both ended 0-0, and it’s a hefty 11/1 that Swansea make it a hat-trick of shutouts here.

There is a caveat to that punt whereby the previous two follow up matches came against Chelsea and Manchester United, teams of a standard that Swansea – who are winless in eight – simply can’t match.
