Kaka, Lassana Diarra, Fernando Gago and Pedro Leon have all been told they are surplus to requirements at Real Madrid by Jose Mourinho.

The news has left Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City preparing to get their chequebooks out in a bid to strengthen their squads for the 2011/12 Premier League season.

It also adds strength to the rumour that Chelsea have prepared an offer for Kaka although Abramovich faces a fight to land the signature of the Brazilian with Manchester City.

With Chelsea currently lacking a manager, Abramovich may find it difficult to tempt Kaka to London although reports from the player’s mother would suggest the Madrid player would favour a move to London over Manchester

Manchester City need a replacement for Carlos Tevez who looks certain to quit the club after developments over the weekend, and Sheikh Mansour will have no problem getting the chequebook out to replace Tevez with Kaka.

But while the two clubs fight over the 29-year-old Brazilian, the more obvious move seems Lassana Diarra to Manchester United.

Sir Alex Ferguson has long been an admirer of the midfielder but has refused to pay over the odds.

With Real prepared to let him go, a deal looks possible for Diarra and it is thought Manchester United could get the 26-year-old for around £8m-£10m and around £80,000-a-week in wages.

Liverpool have been consistently linked with Fernando Gago over the past couple of years and if reports are to believed, he still remains a target for Kenny Dalglish.

The defensive midfielder would command a fee in same region as that of Diarra and with Udinese keen on Christian Poulson, Gago is seen as a replacement for the Danish flop.

Real Madrid could have a huge influence on next season’s Premier League title race and there are plenty of Premier League fans who would love to see the three aforementioned players ply their trade in England.
