While Chelsea appear to have one hand on the Premier League trophy, the race to win this season’s Golden Boot is a fiercely contested affair – and our traders can’t call it.
Each of Alexis Sanchez, Harry Kane, Diego Costa and Zlatan Ibrahimovic share 7/2 favouritism.
And Romelu Lukaku is in the hunt too at 4/1.
Arsenal’s Sanchez leads the way right now on 17 goals, but the Gunners’ stuttering form is the main reason why the Chilean isn’t outright favourite.
Costa and Zlatan are two behind on 15, and there are countering arguments for each to win this race.
While Costa’s Chelsea are likely to score more goals in total during the season’s run-in, it’s expected that the likes of Eden Hazard and Pedro will share the goalscoring burden for the Blues.
Ibrahimovic meanwhile, can be expected to net a higher percentage of Manchester United’s goals for the rest of the campaign. The Swede has already scored over 39 per cent of the Red Devils’ league goals this term.
And that’s the same reasoning for Kane, who is one beyond that pair and three off Sanchez on 14.
The England international has bagged over 30 per cent of Tottenham’s strikes this season, and that’s despite missing a bulk of the Autumn through injury.
But if there’s a club with a heavy reliance on one-man, then it’s Everton and Lukaku, with the big Belgian bagging a full 40 per cent of the Toffees’ goals.
Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero can’t be fully discounted right now either at 8/1.
The Argentine has been given a reprieve at the Etihad following Gabriel Jesus’ injury, but the former Atletico Madrid man has work to do, with just 11 goals netted this season.
After that sextet the market bubbles out to 20/1, where Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe comes in.
It would be a tall order for the 35-year-old to pull it off, but then again nobody else is scoring for the Black Cats this season.
So, if you think the Premier League title race is already over, turn your headed to the golden boot affair, which is set to run and run.
