With 13 goals from 14 appearances since joining Newcastle in January, Papiss Cisse will see support at 16/1 to score in each of the Toon Army’s first five games of this season.
A £10m acquisition from Freiburg last term, few could have predicted the volume of success Cisse would enjoy in his debut half-season on Tyneside.
The smart movement and lethal finishing that define the player reaped such an impressive goal tally though, and one which seems more extraordinary considering he racked up three consecutive braces in a five-game scoring streak at one point.
Punters confident in a repeat of such a feat will lap up those 16/1 odds about him finding the scoresheet in the first five matches of the coming campaign, and will be encouraged by the fact that Cisse is the fastest man in the past 17 years to reach the five-goal mark for Newcastle.
What will also encourage backers of Cisse in this market is the fact that he notched three times in matches against the five sides Newcastle meet in their campaign openers this term.
Of those strikes, one half of a double against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge landed the BBC’s Premier League goal of the season award, and being struck from over 30 yards out, showed Cisse has a penchant for all types of goals.
Also, Cisse now has the benefit of a full pre-season under his belt with the Magpies, and greater fitness levels could prove vital in his quest to rediscover his goalscoring touch from the off this season.
It is also worth noting the strong start he got off to in the Bundesliga last term, before eventually making his switch to the Sports Direct Arena.
Cisse had scored nine times in 17 matches in Germany prior to his move, and will aim to race to that tally even quicker in England this year, as he did when initially joining Alan Pardew’s Tyneside revolution.
