Jose Mourinho may be confident about claiming the Premier League title with Chelsea this season but he may never deliver the Champions League title he so desperately craves at Stamford Bridge.
That is according to Ladbrokes, who have slashed the odds on the Special One never bringing the European Cup back to west London to just 1/4 in the wake of this week’s exit.
Despite this, Mourinho remains 7/4 to win another Champions League title in his career, even though the Portuguese manager failed to get the better of a 10-man Paris Saint-Germain side last time out in the competition.
Speaking in a press conference ahaead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Southampton, the Blues boss was in defiant mood, moving to defend his side after their European exit.
“The people who went out last Wednesday are the same who’ve been top of the league since day one,” he said.
“They are the same people who won the Capital One Cup and the same people who are going to win the Premier League.”
A single-trophy season looks unlikely, though, with the bookmaker pricing Chelsea at 13/2 to only win the League Cup this season.
The Pensioners are currently five points clear of nearest challengers Manchester City in the race to win the Premier League title this term.
However Mourinho’s side still have a game in hand on their big-spending rivals and could move one step closer to a first title in five years.
