With David Moyes being named as the replacement to Sir Alex Ferguson now looking like a done deal, attentions now turn to who will be appointed as the next boss of Everton.
At first glance the Everton job may look an appealing one, with top-eight Premier League finishes secured in the last six successive seasons and a squad that includes the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines.
However, keeping hold of such assets may prove trickier without Moyes steering the ship and he may be at the front of the queue to take the duo to his potential new club.
It is also well documented that Moyes has had to work wonders on a shoestring budget and it is not a job for the faint hearted to try to get Everton punching above their weight and challenging for the Champions League with a smidgen of the money available to their competition.
One man that may be up for the job though is Roberto Martinez and he is the 5/2 favourite to be the next Everton manager.
Martinez has hardly been handed a war chest at Wigan and has done a similarly amazing job in keeping the Latics in the Premier League for the past three seasons, with the chance of adding a fourth campaign to the list still hanging by a thread.
Next in the next Everton manager betting comes Martin O’Neill at 7/1, who would surely welcome the chance to redeem himself after a failed spell at Sunderland, where he ended up being sacked by a club for the first time in his managerial career.
At slightly longer prices and of some interest are Neil Lennon and Gus Poyet, who are both available at 16/1.
Poyet has remained loyal to the Brighton cause previously when linked with Premier League vacancies, but should the club fail to win the Championship play-offs, he may decide the time is right to further his career.
Meanwhile, Lennon is not really extending himself in winning the Scottish Premier League with Celtic and a new challenge in England may be what his career needs.
