Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez could have been accused of complacency last week, his astounding open goal miss against Sunderland is sure to earn him a spot on Match of the Day’s end of season highlight reel.
But Roberto Mancini will have been mightily impressed by his captain’s display as Argentina trounced Spain 4-1 on Tuesday, and Blackburn are usually on the wrong end of a Tevez spectacle.
The Argentine has five goals in four starts against Blackburn and is 8/13 to score anytime and continue the impressive record.
Mancini will be without Mario Balotelli, Wayne Bridge and Aleksandr Kolarov but will gamble on Micah Richards as Man City look to bounce back from their defeat to Sunderland last week.
Emmanuel Adebayor will be pushing for a spot in the starting eleven, the Togo striker has been reduced to the bench for much of the season but has six goals in five starts against Blackburn.
Sam Allardyce is making few friends with his brand of football but the loan signing of Mame Biram Diouf from Manchester United has proved successful, Diouf has four goals in four starts and the Manchester United player will want to get one over on his local rivals.
Allardyce went with three centre-backs when Arsenal visited Ewood Park in their last game, and Chris Samba’s form and presence at the back may see the Blackburn manager stick with the same formation against Man City.
Manchester City’s early season form hasn’t set the Premier League alight but Blackburn’s poor form away from home, just nine goals in 14 away games, should see Man City comfortably collect the three points – they are 3/1 to do so.
Man City are 5/6 to keep a clean sheet. See the full Manchester City vs Blackburn Rovers match betting market here.
