Liverpool have reportedly made a move for West Bromwich Albion’s on-loan defender Ahmed Hegazi.
Hegazi’s displays in central defence have been one of the few positives for the Baggies this season.
But the 26-year-old is only on loan at the Hawthorns from Al Ahly. That means other clubs can swoop in and agree a deal with the Egyptian side for next summer.
Leicester City are also thought to be in the race to secure Hegazi’s signature.
Liverpool’s defence has rarely convinced under Jurgen Klopp. Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan have all made mistakes. The club see Hegazi as a potential solution to their issues at the back.
Klopp’s side face Stoke City on Wednesday night before a trip to Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend.
