Leicester’s odds on winning this year’s Premier League shrunk again this weekend thanks to their victory over Norwich coupled with Arsenal’s defeat away at Manchester United.

Claudio Ranieri’s underdogs were 3/1 heading into the weekend’s games, and after Leonardo Ulloa handed them three crucial points against the Canaries, their Premier League odds were clipped into 5/2.

But as Tottenham came from behind to beat Swansea, and Arsenal failed to keep 18-year-old Marcus Rashford at bay, the east Midlanders’ odds came in again, and as the final whistle blew at Old Trafford, the Foxes became 2/1 title favourites.

Tottenham are right behind Leicester at 21/10, with Arsenal pushed out to 11/4 and League Cup victors Manchester City a 6/1 price.

The Foxes were 5,000/1 back in the summer to win this season’s Premier League, and even by this stage last year they were bottom of the table before embarking on a great escape.

A Leicester/Tottenham forecast was 25,000/1 before the campaign got underway, but with a full list of midweek games coming up, we can expect plenty more fluctuation in the outright odds before this week is up.

Leicester host West Brom, while Mauricio Pochettino’s side must try and oust the in-form West Ham at Upton Park.

Arsenal welcome Swansea to the Emirates but then must head to White Hart Lane at the weekend for the second north London derby of the season.

Leicester will face Watford on Saturday evening, but it’s a certainty that by Sunday one or both of their chasing foes will have dropped further points.

Should that happen, and Ranieri see Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and co pick up six points from these next two games, we might just witness Leicester go odds-on for the first time to lift this season’s trophy.

Quite unthinkable given where they were 12 months ago.
