The City of Leicester is absolutely alive and kicking as the Foxes continue their charge towards the Premier League title, and if the latest reports are anything to go by, they’re quickly becoming linked with some of the biggest names in the game.

According to Football Italia, Claudio Ranieri has reportedly used his Italian connections to try and persuade Roma hero and all-round legend Francesco Totti into joining the King Power club this summer.

Fiercely a one-club man, Totti has fallen out with members of the Roma regime over his contract, and has been repeatedly benched this season under Luicano Spalletti.

Totti – who has played over 750 times for the capital club – has offers from MLS and also isn’t ruling out retirement.

Ranieri was Roma coach for 18 months between 2009 and 2011, and despite a couple of over about Totti’s game time during that spell, it appears the two Romans have been in touch in recent weeks about a potential reunion.

He may be 39, but the midfielder’s game has never been about pace, and one last hurrah to try out the Premier League with a side likely to be in the Champions League – and without the politics at Chelsea or a Manchester United – could just tempt him.

Leicester have previous in this department too, having lured former Real Madrid man Esteban Cambiasso to the east Midlands last season, and the Argentine went on to be hugely influential in keeping the Foxes in the Premier League.

Now title favourites, it should only be a matter of time before a place in next season’s Champions League is secure, and another win away at Crystal Palace would go a long way to achieving that.

The Foxes are 7/5 to win at Selhurst Park, with Alan Pardew’s flailing Eagles 19/10.
