On paper, Arsenal’s start to the season looks decent enough, with Champions League qualification secured and four points taken from their first two Premier League games including a tricky trip to Everton.
However, in reality the Gunners are slightly fortunate not to be on one point after two league matches and Leicester are a good bet to extend their visitors’ sluggish start to the term.
Arsenal are yet to win on the road this season, scrapping out a 0-0 draw at Besiktas in their Champions League play-off and scoring twice late on to grab a point at Everton.
The Gunners have not convinced at home either, with another late goal securing a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, and with Olivier Giroud out for the foreseeable future, they look vulnerable.
Leicester came back twice to grab a point against the Toffees in their first league match at the King Power Stadium, where they won 17 out of 23 games in the Championship last year.
Although Arsenal have struggled of late, it’s unlikely they’ll fail to at least score once, as the last promoted side to keep a clean sheet at home against the Gunners was Sheffield United in 2006.
For their part, the Foxes’ 1-0 loss to Shrewsbury in the Capital One Cup in midweek was their first blank at home in all competitions since November last year, and it can be partly explained by a weakened side.
While this bandwagon is rolling it almost seems like throwing money away not to clamber on board, as Ramsey has started the year in fine fashion with goals in each of his league outings.
The Welshman enjoyed playing against the league’s new faces last season, notching three times in four outings against Crystal Palace, Hull and Cardiff, as wells as scoring against the Tigers in the FA Cup final.
With Giroud sidelined and Alexis Sanchez still finding his feet in England, Ramsey looks easily the most potent player in Arsenal’s line-up, and he will be well rested after missing the Champions League match midweek.
