As news of Harry Redknapp’s dismissal from Tottenham sets in, Ladbrokes have opened a market on where the former Spurs boss will manage next, with Newcastle 7/2 favourite.
The 65-year-old former West Ham chief is eager to continue to manage, and was hopeful of landing a long-term contract at White Hart Lane prior to his exit last night.
Now though, after confirming his departure from the North London club, the man widely tipped to take charge of England only months ago has been left in search of employment.
Previous links with the Newcastle post have re-emerged, but given Alan Pardew’s performance in guiding the Magpies into Europe last season, his tenure at the club could be set to continue for some time to come.
Meanwhile, it is 5/1 Redknapp remains in London, and succeeds Mark Hughes at QPR, who did well to steer the Rs away from relegation danger eventually last season.
Redknapp can also be backed at 8/1 to take the reins at Chelsea, despite Roberto Di Matteo being appointed on a permanent basis at Stamford Bridge just this week.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich is not renowned for his patience however, so a spate of poor results could make a move for Redknapp a plausible solution for the Russian.
Alternatively, he can be backed to take the vacant Swansea post at 10/1, replacing new Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers at the Liberty Stadium.
After those clubs in the market meanwhile, come some where Redknapp has enjoyed previous spells.
He is 12/1 to return to West Ham, and a 16/1 shot to go back to the place his managerial career began on the South coast with Bournemouth.
The far-fetched scenario involving Redknapp heading back to Southampton comes last in the market at 20/1, but after two spells at their arch-rivals Portsmouth, that seems highly unlikely.
Also, after long being regarded as first-choice for the England job this time round, he is 7/2 to manage his country at some point during his lifetime.
