Ian Holloway believes that the Premier League are hoping that Blackpool are one of the two teams who have their relegation confirmed this weekend.

Wigan, Birmingham, Wolves and Blackpool are the other four clubs who could still fill the two spots, but Blackpool certainly appear to have the hardest task on paper.

Blackpool are 2/7 in the Premier League odds to be relegated and have the tough challenge of needing a result at Old Trafford against Manchester United to have a hope of survival.

Manchester United head into the match having not lost at home in any competition for 13 months, but Holloway insists his team will be giving their all to secure victory.

And if this monumental feat is achieved, he believes it is something that will upset the Premier League.

Holloway said: “They will be relieved if we lose and get relegated. Then I am not badgering all these people who don’t do their jobs very well. They will be relieved because I won’t then be sat here saying what I am saying.

“They think we can only beat Manchester United if they are weak. We have to try and do the impossible. It’s got to be perfect.

“No one else has beaten them [at Old Trafford]. And if we do, they might get fined because we are rubbish. The suggestion is that they should always beat us, because we’re supposed to be crap.”

With the Premier League title already sewn up, Manchester United are expected to rest some players ahead of their Champions League final with Barcelona at Wembley on May 28th.

However, Sir Alex Ferguson insists that his team have an obligation to the remainder of the top flight to try to win the game and it is 8/15 that Manchester United beat Blackpool.

Blackpool are 9/2 to claim victory, with the draw that could be enough to see them stay up priced at 10/3.

A £30 stake on Blackpool beating Manchester United 2-1 would return £420. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
