Manchester City are firing on all cylinders and challenging on all fronts right now. Unbeaten in all competitions, Pep Guardiola’s men look an unstoppable force at present.
And they could be set to get even stronger in January, with the club eyeing up a move for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.
Spanish outlet Don Balon are reporting that the Citizens have lined up a winter move for the Algerian, with Guardiola keen to find a long-term replacement for the departed Jesus Navas on the right-wing.
While he’d be unlikely to secure an automatic spot in the current City side, Mahrez’s trickery, energy and finishing could well make him a big asset from the bench.
His stats are certainly impressive this term, with three goals and five assists in 13 games for a very ordinary Foxes side. And with experience of being in a title-winning side, he knows how to handle the big occasion.
With Leicester going nowhere fast this season, a move to the Etihad could surely tempt the wing wizard.
Mahrez was also spotted chatting with Guardiola after Saturday’s meeting between the clubs, and the latest news suggests he could soon be taking instructions from the Spaniard.
Man City face Feyenoord on Tuesday night, looking for a fifth win on the trot. They’re 1/8 to take maximum points against the Dutch club.
