Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has written off his side’s chances of retaining the Premier League title – but that shouldn’t stop them beating Fulham tonight.
Chelsea are currently 8/11 in the betting to beat Fulham and it’s hard to see past a victory for the reigning Premier League champions.
Despite spending £50 million on Fernando Torres, Ancelotti has admitted his ambitions for the season have been tempered by their poor run of form that has seen them slip ten points behind leaders Manchester United.
He said: “The gap is very big, we have to be honest. The most important thing is to reach fourth place in the table to maintain Chelsea in the Champions League and we have to fight with the other teams.
“It is better for us to take it game by game in the Premier League but we have to reach fourth place as a minimum.”
Their hopes of a Champions League spot should be given a boost this evening, even though Fulham are in very decent form. Mark Hughes’ men have lost just one of their last six in the league and have won their last three at Craven Cottage without so much as conceding a goal.
However, the Cottagers have won just once against the Blues in 31 years – that’s 28 meetings, with the only victory coming in their 1-0 win in 2006.
If you fancy Fulham to spring a surprise and come away with a victory at 7/2 then you can back it using a free bet worth £25.

However, Chelsea should come out on top and backing them to win at 8/11 should also yield a very tidy profit.
A £25 stake on Chelsea to win the Premier League would return £225. New customers can sign up here for a free bet worth £25.
