Deadline Day saw numerous comings and goings from a host of Premier League outfits, but as domestic duty returns this weekend following the international break, Fantasy Football managers up and down the land are scratching their heads at how to solve one particular dilemma.
*FIRESALE* All Sergio Agueros must-go. We repeat, all Sergio Agueros must go.
If you happened to have been on holiday lately, you may have missed the news that Manchester City’s Fantasy Football-banker is out for three games through suspension.
So lets not dwell. Who do you replace him with?
With the Argentine star the most expensive player fantasy money can buy, price is no object to seek his replacement.
But that doesn’t mean we recommend any of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jamie Vardy or Harry Kane. We’re tipping the boys who your mates might overlook.
Step forward Wilfried Bony, Callum Wilson and Patrick Bamford.
Bony could become the main man at Stoke this season.
With Crystal Palace and West Brom to come this month, and some seriously creative talent to supply him, the Ivory Coast striker may well prove to be a very solid September inclusion before Aguero’s return.
Wilson could be in luck when Bournemouth host inconsistent West Brom, especially after some savvy transfer deals from the Cherries saw Jack Wilshere and Jordon Ibe arrive at Dean Court.
The same applies to Bamford, who can make a big impression when Burnley welcome Hull City to Turf Moor.
It may seem a little odd to back these three, but with the Manchester derby, Leicester away at Liverpool Tottenham away at Stoke and Chelsea bogey side Swansea, the usual headline grabbers could be in for quiet weekends.
Now, continuing the Aguero-induced panic, Crystal Palace may be a side worth looking at too with their new and improved attack force.
The Eagles are away at unbeaten Middlesbrough, but with Christian Benteke and Loic Remy new targets for Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend to aim at, expect a vastly different approach from Alan Pardew’s men.
Finally, while we’ve voted against following the trends to include Zlatan et al, Dimitri Payet is simply one big-name inclusion you must consider.
The West Ham star is on the cards to make his return from injury this weekend, and though everyone else will throw him straight in their team, he’s simply a player you can’t afford to leave out.
