That’s enough talk about Champions League and Europa League adventures for one week, it’s time to get back to business in the Premier League and Fantasy Football with the end of the campaign fast approaching.
Gameweek 33 is upon us and that means time is running out to either hold on to a lead or to make up ground on the teams above.
Mr Brightside holds a handy lead in the battle between the Ladbrokes Life teams, but things could change in a heartbeat this week, especially with many teams taking advantage of Everton playing twice.
Here’s the latest news from the gang as the battle for the Ladbrokes Life League hots up…
Another top performance from the lads means the title is ours to lose! There’s still a lot to be done so we’ll take every game as it comes.
Schmeichel has been an excellent replacement for Hart doing exactly what you want from a keeper, a clean sheet! Again the back three stay the same this week especially with Bellerin the star of the show keeping a clean sheet and scoring against Watford.
Firmino, Alli, Ozil and Mahrez will be the midfield and with all four having things to play for I’m sure we’ll have some good performances from the boys.
With Afobe getting injured I’m bringing back the big man! Lukaku will face the out of form Watford and Palace this gameweek and I’m confident he’ll get back in the goals. He gets the armband and will start alongside Kane and Aguero.
It’s getting to the business end of the season, and I want to put some pressure on Generous John in second place.
My team are all capable of picking up the points, but goals have been a bit dry from my midfielders in recent weeks…But I’m sticking with them as they all have some very tasty opponents this week!
I’m looking to make the most of Everton’s double fixture this week, so I’ve stuck Funes Mori back in. Here’s hoping he will get 90 minutes from at least one of the Toffee’s two fixtures!
My only other change sees Schmeichel come in for Adrian as Leicester face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
The Hammers face a resilient Arsenal side who looked back to their usual slickness against Watford last week, so damage limitation means the Spaniard will be keeping the bench warm this time around.
The weeks continue to pass and the gap continues to increase. Mr Brightside now leads by 82 points but I know there’s still enough time to catch him.
I’ve made three changes for this week resulting in a four-point hit with Smalling, Wijnaldum and Lukaku all making way for Monreal, Alli and Kane.
If you can’t beat them – yet – join them and the inclusion of Kane is one that should have been made months ago. The Spurs frontman has already bagged 22 goals this season and I can only see that rising with the form he’s in.
City are at home to West Brom and although Tony Pulis’ sides don’t concede many Aguero will wear the armband for this week.
It’s safe to say this season has been a bit of a disaster, I’m dead last among the guys and must now focus on closing the gap and making it a respectable finish.
My only change for this week is to replace Butland, the Stoke stopper has been immense this year but will now miss the rest of the campaign due to injury. In comes Schmeichel, who at the moment doesn’t look like conceding with the Foxes having kept four clean sheets in a row.
With Everton having two games this week the captaincy goes to Lukaku, he hasn’t been at his best but let’s hope he gets back on track with the upcoming fixtures.
A decent 57 points last week puts me nine points off 3rd place, so close I can almost taste it. We may not be challenging for top spot this season but the least I can do is beat the Gut Truster.
I’m bringing out the big guns out this week and using my Triple Captain on Lukaku. Palace have been in pretty poor form since December and are without a win in their last 14.
Watford meanwhile have lost their last 4 on the bounce so I expect Lukaku to pick up some decent points against both of them.
The only transfer I’m making this week is bringing Kane who’s in incredible form with 22 goals this season and likely to nab some points at home to United.
