Even though he’s now fully settled into his role as high-profile fan, Sir Alex Ferguson’s managerial legacy continues to grow.

Two former Ferguson employees have recently dipped their toes into the Premier League pool, joining a long list of SAF graduates.

Rene Meulensteen and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer have taken over respective struggling ships in Fulham and Cardiff and both men are set to return to their former club hoping to pluck some United rejects out of their comfort zone in a bid to save their season.

Wingers seem to be the need for the west London and Welsh outfits, with Fulham sweet on Nani and Cardiff one of plenty of clubs exploring the possibility of loaning outcast Wilfried Zaha.

With Bryan Ruiz now a PSV player, Fulham need to replenish their touchline-hugging stocks and would certainly be getting an upgrade in that position should they land the Portuguese flyer.

The poor man’s Cristiano Ronaldo has appeared in just four of United’s last 19 outings in all competitions and would significantly boost Fulham’s 4/5 chances of staying up as he links up with his former coach while also rekindling an on-pitch relationship with Dimitar Berbatov.

However, Nani’s low appearance numbers dwarf those of Zaha, who’s started just twice since joining the defending champions on a permanent basis.

Solskjaer, whose Cardiff side are 1/1 second favourites for the drop, will use his long-running relationship with his former club to steal a march on his transfer rivals, with the Bluebirds the 2/5 favourites to land their man during this transfer window.

Signing another United connection, Ravel Morrison, will be a far tougher task for the fomer Molde manager, though.

The Norwegian is set for a gory transfer battle with Meulensteen over the West Ham midfielder, with Fulham landing the first blow in lodging a bid for the player, although that was rejected by the Hammers.
