Didier Drogba is 1/1 in the Premier League betting to leave Chelsea in the summer and this could be a decent price if Carlo Ancelotti continues to struggle to find a formation that incorporates both the Ivorian and new signing Fernando Torres.
Chelsea have failed to find the target in both games since signing Torres from Liverpool, but the fact the club spent a Premier League transfer record of £50m to bring in the Spaniard means that they are likely to stick with him for the long haul.
Torres and Drogba started in tandem against Liverpool, with little sign of any chemistry being formed, while the Ivorian was then relegated to the bench as Chelsea travelled to Fulham.
With Chelsea seemingly short of wingers in their squad and potentially reluctant to change to a standard 442, this is likely to mean there will not be space for both strikers in Ancelotti’s starting line-up.
Drogba will be particularly keen to secure first-team football as he rapidly closes in on his 33rd birthday next month and if he does spend more time on the bench than on the pitch, then a summer move away is almost guaranteed.
Former club Marseille have been among the clubs reportedly putting together a summer package to lure Drogba away from Stamford Bridge, while a big-money move to the MLS should also not be ruled out.
Drogba has only managed nine league goals this season and this is part of the reason as to why they are 12/1 in the Premier League betting to win the title.
Meanwhile, it is 10/1 that Torres is still waiting for his first Chelsea league goal at the end of the season, with Chelsea having 12 games to make up 12 points on Manchester United.
However, with Chelsea expected to spend again in the summer, Torres could rediscover his scoring touch during next season and it is 9/2 that he ends the 2011/12 campaign as the top scorer in the Premier League.
A £25 stake on Torres leaving Chelsea at the end of this season would return £250. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
