Manchester United have only beaten Chelsea once in their last nine attempts but have hit form just in time for their latest trip to Stamford Bridge.

You have to go back to October 2012 for the last time the Red Devils were victorious against Chelsea, with Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez the scorers that night.

United had a helping hand on that occasion, with Branislav Ivanovic and Fernando Torres both seeing red with the scores locked at 2-2 but on current form United won’t need their hosts to be in such generous mood to take all three points.

Interim Blues boss Guus Hiddink has steadied the ship, with Chelsea unbeaten in his seven games at the helm, but with just four wins to his name so far and United suddenly in a rich vein of form in front of goal the Old Trafford side’s winless streak could well come to an end.

However, United will have to overcome the odds if they are to claim maximum points, with Ladbrokes pricing the visitors up as 14/5 underdogs.

Chelsea carry the favourites tags at 21/20 and the draw could tempt at 11/5, with three of the last five meetings ending all square.

United though put in arguably their best performance in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era when brushing Stoke aside 3-0 last time out and with confidence riding high many could be swayed by Ladbrokes’ Price Boost on the game which sees a United win with both sides scoring boosted from 6/1 to 7/1.

Should United win, however, they are likely to have to come from behind, with Diego Costa looking the man most likely to open the scoring.

The Spain international has notched first in five of the Blues’ games this season, while Anthony Martial , United’s most frequent first scorer, has done it just three times.

Costa can be backed at 9/2 to get the game up and running on Sunday, while Martial’s chances are rated at 9/1.
