Should Chelsea go on to land the Premier League title as is expected, the plaudits will be heaped upon many of their stars, but arguably Eden Hazard’s contribution has been the most influential.

The Belgian winger is in line to make his 100th Chelsea appearance when he lines up against QPR this Sunday lunchtime and he looks in great shape to mark the occasion with a goal.

Hazard’s penalty against Stoke last time out got the ball rolling on yet another Chelsea victory and the maestro has now been enhanced to score the game’s first goal against QPR.

Ladbrokes are taking a big risk by bumping up the odds on a Hazard opener from 4/1 to 6/1, when the Belgian is in such scintillating form.

The former Lille schemer has notched in three of his last four league games and in five of his last seven outings for club and country.

As mentioned above his chances of getting on the scoresheet are aided by his spot-kick duties since Frank Lampard vacated Stamford Bridge last summer.

Few are as deadly from 12 yards either. The Belgian has tucked away nine out of nine Premier League penalties, which is the joint most alongside Dimitar Berabatov, for any player boasting a 100 per cent record.

Much like his predecessor Lampard, however, a player of Hazard’s outstanding ability is not restricted to bagging goals from set pieces.

Hazard loves using his fancy footwork to cut in from the left and unleash right footed into the far corner, but he’s even popped up with a header or two this season.
