Manchester City’s sensational season continued with a record-breaking 4-0 win over Swansea City on Wednesday night.
City have now won 15 consecutive league games – more than any other side in top-flight history.
Pep Guardiola’s side are 11 points clear at the top of the table and near-certain champions at 1/25.
They haven’t lost a league game yet this season. Can they equal Arsenal’s Invincibles and go the entire campaign without losing?
They’re currently 9/2 to win the league without losing. They’re also unbeaten in 25 league games now – over halfway to Arsenal’s record of 49.
The Premier League’s strength in depth would make it an incredible achievement if they can better the Gunners’ run.
City might look better than the rest of the division, but it’s hard to maintain that level as the games pile up.
That’s where Pep Guardiola will need to rely on his squad players.
The likes of Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Yaya Toure haven’t featured much this season. Their relatively fresh legs could be crucial over the next few months.
The league leaders are also favourites to win the Champions League at 11/4.
If they’re still so far ahead in domestic competition, it may be hard for them to maintain their focus when the Champions League knockout stages come around.
They’ve got a while to go until then though. Their next game is a big test against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening. City only took one point from the two meetings between the sides last season.
They’re big 8/15 favourites to win this time. A convincing victory would show how much they’ve progressed over the last year. It would also mean they’ll have beaten every other member of the big six. Can anyone stop them?
