New Hull City striker Abel Hernandez can be backed to get his Tigers career off to a flying start thanks to the latest Breaking Bets market from Ladbrokes.
The Uruguay international was a deadline day addition to Steve Bruce’s squad after making a £10m switch from Serie A side Palermo to join Gaston Ramirez and Hatem Ben Arfa at the KC Stadium.
At just 24 years of age the forward has his best years in front of him and joins the Premier League on the back of his most prolific campaign to date.
Hernandez’s Palermo career yielded 36 goals in 122 games and while that may not be a stat to whip the Tigers fans into a frenzy the fact that 14 of those strikes came from 30 games last season shows he is a striker in form.
That those goals came in the Italian second tier will be a cause for concern, especially given the transfer fee Bruce shelled out, but if the Tigers boss can get Hernandez playing as well as he did under Giuseppe Iachini then the goals could flow.
The striker’s first opportunity to shine will come after the international break, when West Ham will be the visitors to the KC Stadium, and Ladbrokes is offering 2/1 that he nets on his debut
Bruce’s side are the 11/10 favourites to claim all three points, while the Hammers are billed as 5/2 underdogs and the draw can be backed at 23/10.
Hernandez scored on his competitive debut for Palermo in a 2-2 draw with Genoa and Bruce will be hoping his man can repeat the tick against the Irons, albeit with a better result.
With the likes of Ben Arfa and fellow deadline day signing Ramirez added to a midfield already boasting Jake Livermore and Tom Huddlestone there should be plenty of opportunities provided to Hernandez in order for him to find the net.
