The chance to move five points clear at the top of the Premier League standings is one that Manchester United are unlikely to pass up and although a short price, they can be backed at 2/5 to win away to Blackburn.
Manchester United are certainly not short on reasons to be mentally right to beat Blackburn, as not only can they give themselves breathing space at the top of the table from Manchester City, but they can gain revenge for their unforeseen defeat to Blackburn at Old Trafford over Christmas.
In terms of present form, it is hard to knock Manchester United as they head to Ewood Park having won nine of their last ten Premier League games and having lost just one of their last 16 on the road.
Despite winning two of their last three Premier League games, Blackburn are still only outside of the bottom three on goal difference and will know that every point is precious at this stage of the season.
Confidence should be no issue as they have already beaten Manchester United once this season and it is 13/2 that they complete an unlikely double.
Meanwhile, Steve Kean would almost certainly take a draw to boost Blackburn’s survival chances and this is available at 7/2.
Looking at the other markets aside from match betting, there may be some value in the 11/8 that at least four goals are scored in the fixture, as there was at Old Trafford.
Outside of the top six, no team had scored more than Blackburn this season before this weekend, while the hosts also have 14-goal Yakubu at their disposal to attempt to gun down Manchester United again.
Manchester United should have no trouble in front of goal either, with Wayne Rooney having scored 17 goals in as many appearances for the club in all competitions.
He also has four goals in his last five league appearances against Blackburn and is 11/4 to break the deadlock.
