Birmingham have found home victories hard to come by in the Premier League of late, but they are 7/5 in the football betting to take the three points when they host neighbours Aston Villa.

Match Odds

A win in the Midland’s derby at St Andrew’s could be worth more than local bragging rights, with both teams finding themselves at the wrong end of the Premier League standings.

Birmingham have just one victory in their last five home games and this form is part of the reason why they are just one point outside of the relegation places.

Their form against Aston Villa is not much better as they are without a victory in the last seven top-flight showdowns between the pair and in this time they have managed just three goals.

However, they may take confidence from the fact that they recently beat Villa at home in the quarter finals of the Carling Cup.

Aston Villa’s odds to beat Birmingham are 9/5 and they are desperate for a victory to leapfrog their opposition and out of the relegation places.

Villa have won six of these last seven league games with Birmingham, but Gerard Houllier’s team have only taken five points on their travels all season, which is the second worst away record in the Premier League.

It is also 11 games since Villa last kept a league clean sheet.

Over/Under 1.5 goals

None of the last three league meetings between the pair have witnessed more than a single goal scored, with the clash at Villa Park earlier this season ending goalless.

Therefore, the 15/8 on offer in the Premier League betting that no more than one goal is scored at St Andrew’s could represent good value, particularly as Villa are without suspended attacking duo Emile Heskey and Ashley Young.

A £25 bet on Birmingham beating Aston Villa 1-0 could see a return of £175. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
