Not content with scouring Barcelona for up and coming talent Stoke boss Mark Hughes now has his sights set on Bayern Munich too.

The Potters boss is rumoured to be preparing a bid for Barca youngster Moha and has now entered the race to land highly-regarded Bayern prospect Mitchell Weiser.

The 21- year old can play at right back or further forward in midfield and with his contract expiring this summer a number of clubs are credited with an interest.

A host of Bundesliga outfits are monitoring the situation and Everton are also thought to be on the case but Hughes could steal a march on his rivals with a concrete offer in the coming weeks.

Weiser hit the headlines early in his career, netting as a 17-year-old for FC Cologne but despite laying on an assist for Bastian Scweignsteiger in a recent win over Hertha Berlin, has found first team opportunities few and far between under Pep Guardiola.

Stoke are no strangers to recruiting from the Bundesliga, with Phillip Wollsheid, Mame Biram Diouf, and Marko Arnautovic all plying their trade in Germany before moving to the Britannia stadium and the thought of first team football could temp Weiser into following in that trio’s footsteps.

Next up for the Potters is a trip to Swansea, a game which sees Hughes’ men billed as 12/5 outsiders.

Swansea can be backed at 23/20 to claim all three points and with just one win from their last five games this seems the most likely outcome and also points to why Hughes is keen to bolster his defence.
