At odds of 1/16, Chelsea have one hand on this season’s Premier League trophy, but the Blues could be heading for a far less enjoyable summer.
That’s according to reports in today’s press, with The Sun claiming that Barcelona want to make moves for three of Chelsea’s stars.
And the trio in question are Marcos Alonso, Cezar Azpilicueta and Nemanja Matic.
All three have thrived under Antonio Conte this season, but now it seems they may have impressed too much.
There should be no immediate concerns for Blues fans however, with both Alonso and Azpilicueta signing new contracts in the last eight months.
Matic too, has a deal lasting until 2019.
But the lure of the Catalan giants may prove too strong for Spanish duo Alonso and Azpilicueta.
The former may have unfinished business in La Liga, having failed to make the grade at Real Madrid, and a move to Barca would certainly enhance his international hopes, with Alonso yet to earn a senior cap.
Azpilicueta already has 18 international appearances to his name, but a move to Catalunya would certainly allow him to return to his hometown of Pamplona more often.
And Matic isn’t a dead cert to stay at Stamford Bridge either, with Chelsea having already sold the Serbian once before.
Conte may well be trying to build something big in west London, but it might not be so straight-forward is Barcelona continue to take an interest in his star assets.
