Swansea heading into their fourth Premier League game without a win isn’t exactly surprising, but Arsenal facing the same predicament is something akin to a crisis.
It’s been a torrid start to the season for Arsene Wenger and, for once, he’d have been glad to have an international break.
An opening draw against Newcastle United wasn’t cause for too much concern, but a 2-0 defeat at home to Liverpool set alarm bells ringing, before their 8-2 mauling away to Manchester United showed just how far Arsenal have slipped in recent seasons.
They have brought in several new players though and the experienced trio of Yossi Benayoun, Mikel Arteta and Per Mertesacker should ensure they pick up three points against Swansea at 1/3.
It won’t be all that easy for Arsenal though.
The Gunners have lost their previous two home games and haven’t scored more than one goal in their last seven league games at the Emirates.
With Swansea dominating possession in their last two games against Wigan Athletic and Sunderland, it looks as though the scoring chances for the Gunners could be limited – especially with several new players who need bedding in.
Backing under 2.5 goals at 11/10 looks worth a punt, while putting some cash on Arsenal to win to nil at 11/8 is worth considering as the Swans have yet to find the net in the Premier League.
Robin van Persie was in brilliant goalscoring form last season and managed to find the net against Manchester United in their last game.
He hit four in the Netherlands 11-0 win against San Marino last week so back him to find the net at 4/6.
