Arsenal planning for life after Cazorla with move for Juventus ace

It’s safe to say that Arsenal have missed Santi Cazorla in the last few weeks. While the Spaniard has been out with injury, the Gunners have gone from finding themselves in a genuine title race, to now relying on mistakes from other sides.

In Cazorla’s absence, we’re starting to see what Arsenal’s midfield will look like when the 32-year-old eventually moves on.

But there’s something missing. Though there’s pace, power and energy in the likes of Granit Xhaka, Francis Couquelin and Mohamed Elneny, those players each lack the levels of creativity which Cazorla possesses.

It’s for that reason that Arsene Wenger has reportedly made Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic his number one target this month, with our traders making it an 8/1 shot for the midfielder to join the north London outfit.

It’s thought the Gunners boss has already tabled a £28m bid for the 26-year-old, and a quick glance at his figures in recent years tells you that would be an absolute steal.

Despite only arriving from Roma last summer, and seeing plenty of game-time at the Serie A league leaders, Pjanic has long been linked with a move to the Premier League.

Wenger has always been an admirer too, and reports this morning are suggesting the French boss has had a private conversation with the Bosnia international to discuss his future.

In 20 appearances for the Old Lady, Pjanic has already scored six goals and assisted eight, carrying on his fine form from last campaign, where he netted 10 and set up 12.

With his best years still ahead of him, the central-midfielder would be just the kind of player Gooners would welcome at the Emirates.

Confident on the ball, with a mean eye for a killer pass and a fierce shot, it’s fair to say Pjanic has all the makings of a potential Arsenal great.
