Arsenal could be about to make a shock January move for one of Paris Saint-Germain’s star names.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, the Gunners are in talks with PSG to bring Julian Draxler to the Emirates Stadium.

With the expected departures of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil from North London either in January or next summer, manager Arsene Wenger is on the lookout for a big name signing.

Draxler, a World Cup winner with Germany in 2014, fits the bill perfectly.

The 24-year-old has been played out of position since his move to PSG following the arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in the summer.

Even so, the 6ft 2in ace has still made 15 appearances for Unai Emery’s side this season, contributing two goals and three assists.

However, his situation at the Parc des Princes is not ideal.

And that could persuade the German to make a surprise switch to North London in January.

He has now been given the green light to find a new club and Arsenal currently appear to be the most attractive suitors.

Wenger is known to be a fan of the ex-Wolfsburg winger and has had approaches for the star rebuffed in the past.

But with the situation different this time around, the veterans Gunners boss could finally be about to get his man.

All Odds and Markets are correct as of the date of publishing.
