It looks set to be a busy couple of days at the Emirates with Arsenal thought to be pursuing a host of new signings.
The Gunners are rumoured to be on the verge of signing Gary Cahill from Bolton after opening talks with the England man.
The 25-year-old has a release clause in his contract of £17million but Arsenal are hoping to get him for around £15million, according to The Metro.
The paper also believes ex-Birmingham midfielder Sebastian Larsson could return to Arsenal on a free transfer after playing for them until 2007.
Meanwhile, according to the Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal are also contemplating a bid for Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto’o after the Cameroon striker said: “I have already shown that I have what it takes to play in Italy and I now have the idea of proving myself in England.”
It would mark a big change in Wenger’s transfer policy, but the arrival of a world class striker should finally silence the doubters who criticise Wenger’s belief in youth over experience.
Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror think Wenger is within a few hours of signing Lille attaker Gervinho for around £11million.
They believe the fee has already been agreed and a deal for the 24-year-old Ivory Coast striker will be finalised in the next two days.
The Gunners are currently priced at 8/1 to win the Premier League and, if even half of the rumours surrounding them turn out to be true, that could certainly be worth backing.
