Chelsea have had a difficult defence of their Premier League title and could be set for an equally troubling summer.
Stars such as Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois are rumoured to be looking for a way out of Stamford Bridge, but there could be a potential silver lining for them.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Alexis Sanchez stormed out of the Emirates Stadium after being substituted for Francis Coquelin in his most recent outing, against Norwich.
The Chilean winger has two years remaining on his contract, but is yet to sign a new deal and may be open to leaving the Gunners.
Sanchez would be a perfect replacement for the wantaway Hazard and the Blues would be wise to try and secure his signature.
Furthermore, the Arsenal man has far outperformed his Chelsea counterpart this season.
The former Barcelona winger has 12 Premier League goals and four assists to his name, while the Belgium international has just three in each category.
Bringing the 27-year-old to the other side of London may seem like a difficult task at first, but it may be more straightforward than it immediately appears.
Firstly, Sanchez wouldn’t need to worry about the problems of relocating, while Arsenal would able to get a lot of money for a player that no longer wants to be at the club.
Additionally, it would allow the Blues to immediately replace a quality attacking-midfielder with experience in the English top-flight with another, something which is difficult to do.
Examining who is available for the west Londoners to sign, it is clear that no one matches this criteria as strongly as the disenchanted Gunner.
Fans of the Emirates outfit should also be open to a move as it would finally force Arsene Wenger to invest more heavily, something they have been calling out for for a long time.
