As they canter towards this season’s Premier League title, all the talk is of what moves Chelsea will make this summer. And the latest reports suggest the Blues will make bids for both Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku.
Alvaro Morata has also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but it’s now believed that Chelsea’s attention on the Spaniard has cooled.
Both Sanchez and Lukaku could be readily available this summer, with the Chilean and Belgian facing contractual issues at Arsenal and Everton respectively.
The Gunners have made clear that they will resume contract talks with Sanchez once the season is over, but until a new deal is reached, the hotshot forward is subject to transfer speculation.
Lukaku appears to be much further to the exit at Everton, after news broke that the 23-year-old has refused to sign a new five-year-deal.
The contract would have made the Belgian the highest-paid player in Everton’s history.
Chelsea are widely believed to be leading the chase for their former striker.
But according to the Daily Telegraph this weekend, the Blues will also bid for Sanchez too.
The news that Antonio Conte could sign both Sanchez and Lukaku adds plenty of credence to the speculation that Diego Costa is set to quit Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Spaniard was dropped in January after a falling out with Conte, amid reports that he was offered a mega-bucks move to China.
And despite Costa returning to the first team, it would surprise no one to see the striker head east once this season is over.
