Tottenham have a recent history of losing their best players to bigger clubs. Starting with Michael Carrick and running through Dimitar Berbatov, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, Spurs are yet to keep hold of a star once he attracts the attention of a European powerhouse.
Since Harry Kane hit the headlines with his goalscoring exploits of last season, his is the latest name linked with a big move away from White Hart Lane.
Those rumours often suggest Manchester United, where Berbatov and Carrick both went, will be the destination for the Lilywhite star, although now there is a new name in the mix.
According to the Sun on Sunday, Bayern Munich are also exploring the possibility of signing Kane. The paper reports that the Bundesliga outfit have scouted Kane three times and rate the England international at £50m.
Although this season hasn’t quite matched last term’s highs in terms of consistent goals yet, the Sun still believe Bayern could make a move for the youngster at the end of the current campaign.
Kane did get back on the scoresheet in his last outing, notching a hattrick against Bournemouth, but has so far failed to hit the kind of form that saw him bag over 30 goals for club and country last season.
Consistent returns of 20 plus for the striker would make keeping hold of the 22-year-old very tough for Tottenham unless they are playing in the Champions League, even then the pull of the Bavarian trophy collectors may be too great.
