Alexis Sanchez is 2/1 to stay at Arsenal – and here’s why he’ll stick around

First he’s off to Manchester City, then he’s off to Bayern Munich. But now Alexis Sanchez could be set to stay put at Arsenal.

It’s 2/1 the Chilean sticks around in North London this summer, but that won’t inspire too much confidence in Gooners.

At Ladbrokes News however, we reckon there’s a case to be made about backing that very outcome.

It’s 4/5 he joins Manchester City in the coming weeks, and the Citizens can enhance his pay packet quite substantially.

But we’re overlooking the fact that Arsenal selling their star man to a prime rival would be a colossal own goal.

And that’s just on the sporting front.

For those who complain about the Premier League big boys being run like a business, though Arsenal could land £40m from a Sanchez sale, what sort of message does that put out to shareholders and business partners?

In short, it makes zero sense for Arsenal to sell him to Pep Guardiola’s side.

A move to Bayern Munich makes more sense from a footballing perspective.

But reports over in Germany claim the Bundesliga kingpins have been put off by Sanchez’s wages, and are now exploring alternative options.

So where does that leave the forward?

Chelsea? That would be worse than going to City.

Paris Saint-Germain? Perhaps, but at 20/1 our traders don’t fancy it.

And so the end result is this, Alexis Sanchez stays at Arsenal.

It’s even plausible that the forward signs a new deal this summer, on the proviso that he can leave in 12 months time, having led the Gunners back into the Champions League.

That’s 2/1 by the way, in case we’ve managed to convince you.
