This weekend’s trio of tips from England’s fourth tier includes promotion pushers Chesterfield and Burton alongside something of a curve-ball in the shape of bottom-of-the-table Northampton, who should still be backed to turn it on at home against York.

With odds of over 9/1 this treble pays out a hefty £95 for anyone placing a £10 bet on these particular selections with Ladbrokes. Game on!

Burton to beat Cheltenham @ 6/5

Burton’s steady rise up the table has come off the back of an impressive run that has seen them go 10 games unbeaten in all competitions and manager Gary Rowett will be confident of continuing that hot streak against an inconsistent Cheltenham outfit.

The visitors have yet to replicate last season’s promotion chasing form, with a poor start to the campaign leaving the 2013 play-off finalists at the wrong end of the table. A home defeat to Mansfield saw the Robins’ recent unbeaten run come to a halt and having lost 3-1 to Burton on their last trip to Whaddon Road, a repeat looks assured.

Chesterfield to beat Bury @ 8/11

Third and just three points off leaders Scunthorpe, Chesterfield will know that a home win over Bury is a must if they are to challenge for automatic promotion this term.

The hosts are certainly in the right kind of form to do just that though and head into this fixture five games unbeaten in all competitions. Bury may have enjoyed an upturn in results of late, but their form on the road remains a concern, with the Shakers winning just two of their last 12 away games in League Two.

Chesterfield cruised to a 2-0 win when these two met at the JD Stadium earlier this term and there is little to suggest a repeat won’t occur here.

Northampton to beat York @ 6/4

An away victory over Newport breathed new life into Northampton’s faltering campaign, with the Cobblers now just a point from safety at the bottom of the division.

Caretaker boss Andy King certainly has his work cut out for him, but if the Shoe Army are to avoid the drop this term, home form could prove key. Northampton have lost just one of their last six at Sixfields and will be desperate for the win against a York side that rarely travels well.

Without a victory in eight league games on the road, the Minstermen could prove easy pickings for a Cobblers team fighting for their lives.
