Huddersfield will be looking to cement their place at the top of the League One table by securing victory over Tranmere in their first competitive game at the Galpharm Stadium this season.

Lee Clark’s team picked up an impressive 3-0 win at league newcomers Notts County on the opening day and then followed up with a narrow away victory at Carlisle in the League Cup.

Huddersfield only lost once at home over the course of last season, against champions Norwich, and a repeat should ensure them another visit to the play-offs at worst.

They are 4/1 to secure promotion to the Championship as league winners and 4/9 to collect the three points against Tranmere.

The corresponding fixture between the pair finished 3-3 last season with the home side being pegged back on three occasions.

It is 66/1 for the result to finish the same this time around.

On the flip side, Charlton lost only five away fixtures last season, which was equal best with Brighton, and they are preparing for the short trip across the River Thames to tackle Leyton Orient in the Friday night game.

Pawel Abbott signed for the Addicks on a free transfer earlier this summer and is 11/2 to score the first goal, while a repeat of last season’s 2-1 win for Charlton is 8/1.

Meanwhile, it is 22/1 for the same scenario of Orient to be leading at the interval but Charlton to claim the three points.

Elsewhere, Sheffield Wednesday face another Essex team as they travel to Colchester.

They opened the season with a home win over Dagenham and Redbridge and are 6/4 to make it six points out of six.

Anthony Wordsworth netted a 60-second double in Colchester’s draw with Exeter on the first day of the campaign and is 6/1 to break the deadlock against the Owls.

Peterborough also opened the season with a 3-0 win and are 13/10 to triumph again away at Bournemouth.
