Blackpool are looking to adjust to life back in League One following promotion last term – and manager Gary Bowyer is targeting two Bournemouth talents in his bid to boost their hopes. But ambitious Luton Town could put a spanner in the works.
The pair in question are winger Harry Cornick and striker Joe Quigley. Both have impressed during loan stints away from the Vitality Stadium, but with game-time hard to come by in the Premier League, both could well exit this summer.
Cornick spent the first part of last season on loan with Leyton Orient. One of their few bright sparks during the campaign, the Poole native chalked up one goal and three assists in his 13 outings – four of which the strugglers won.
That was before he joined up with a certain Joe Quigley at Gillingham, with the loanee pair helping rescue the Gills from the threat of League One relegation, with Ady Pennock’s men surviving on the final day.
So, both men have experience at this level and could prove vital if the newly-promoted Tangerines find themselves in a relegation scrap.
The only hitch is that Luton have now joined the race for Cornick, with reports in the Bournemouth Echo suggesting the Hatters are now frontrunners for the talented winger.
Next up for Blackpool is a visit to Wigan Athletic in Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup, with 7/2 about Bowyer’s men recording a surprise away win.
