Carlisle are currently one of League One’s pace setters with 19 points so far this season but they face a big test this weekend, as they and their fans have to undergo a 576 mile round trip to face Exeter City.

The teams might be ten places apart in the standings, but in reality there is only three points between them, and the gruelling commute could have a real effect on Carlisle.

Priced at 9/5 to win, Carlisle will be very disappointed if they come away with nothing.

But Exeter will be banking on journey fatigue helping them to victory at 7/5, and propelling them into one of the play off spots.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield face a real test as they play host to Southampton.

Lee Clark’s side are 6/4 to win, but Southampton at 17/10 are highly fancied to come back to the South Coast with a victory.

Each side will be hoping for goals from their leading marksman, with Saints’ Rickie Lambert favourite to score first at 9/2 followed closely by Jordan Rhodes at 5/1.

Both have five goals for the season so far and one of them, at least, is bound to add to that.

Promotion contenders Peterborough and Bournemouth both have winnable home games, with Posh backed at 5/6 to beat Swindon, and the Cherries similarly fancied at 6/5 to beat MK Dons.

At the bottom, there are two absolutely crunch games.

Third from bottom Tranmere are priced at 11/8 to beat Brentford, who sit in last place and are 15/8 to beat Tranmere.

Dagenham who are in the drop zone and Walsall who currently aren’t, meet in Essex and both will want to end the day separated from the other by more than the goal difference that presently does.

Daggers are 11/10 to win, with Walsall available at 12/5, but the draw is also 12/5 and offers the value.

Brighton are 5/1 to win League One. See the full NPower League One betting odds market here.
