Europe’s biggest clubs get into gear this weekend. 18 of the continent’s top teams face off in the pre-season money-spinner that is the International Champions Cup.

Ahead of Friday’s curtain-raiser between Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund, we’ve got all the info on this summer spectacular…

How does it work?

As said, a whopping 18 teams are involved. That includes the top five from last season’s Premier League, as well as the likes of Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Champions League holders Real Madrid.

Each side will play three games, with the side boasting the best record being crowned champions. No knockouts, no play-offs – simply a mini league table!

It’s played across the USA, Singapore and Europe, with Stamford Bridge the only English ground included. However, there are also games at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.

Where’s the money going?

Every club involved will trouser a sum in the millions. And the clubs with the biggest global appeal bag the biggest bucks for their involvement.

Each of Manchester United, Barcelona and Real are receiving a tidy £20m for taking part. Meanwhile, the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea are picking up £10m apiece.

The big games

So, which dates should fans be getting in their diaries?

As we said, it begins with what promises to be a free-flowing game between Man City and Dortmund.

The first all-Prem clash comes on Wednesday 25th July, as the Citizens face Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the 82,500 capacity MetLife Stadium.

Three days later, the Reds face Jose Mourinho’s men in Michigan. And Tottenham Hotspur face a real test against Barcelona.

1st August sees an all-London clash in Dublin between Chelsea and Unai Emery’s new-look Gunners.

And three days later there’s a repeat of the 2017 Champions League Final, as Juve take on Los Blancos.
