Leicester have already secured automatic promotion and from the evidence of their last performance they have been on the beers, gins, vodkas, white russians and piña coladas ever since.

The Foxes suffered their first home defeat since November at the hands of Brighton and the manner of their 4-1 reversal suggests they should be approached with caution for the rest of the season.

Nigel Pearson’s team are not completely without incentive considering the destination of the Championship winners’ medals are still yet to be decided and that will presumably be the main feature of Pearson’s pre-match speech with Burnley only six points adrift.

Leicester could all but settle that debate with a win over Reading at 7/5, however, with Nigel Adkins’ side only a point off the play-off places they undoubtedly come into this clash with more motivation.

That is not the only reason to side with the home team at 15/8 with Reading enjoying more success over their opponents in recent years than any other.

Before Leicester won their Boxing Day meeting at the King Power stadium this season Reading had taken the spoils from their last five fixtures including back-to-back 3-1 home wins.

It would be convenient for this advice if Reading were in better form as Adkins bid to secure a second promotion in three years after guiding Southampton to second place in 2012.

Reading have picked up only one win in their last four and incredibly haven’t secured maximum points at the Madjeski since a 5-1 thumping of Blackpool at the end of January.

The home form is clearly a concern, however, with the doubts surrounding the focus of their opponents and their recent record against the Foxes everything is in place for the rot to stop.

It’s too ambitious to expect Leicester to be as off the pace as they were against Brighton but the reality remains that they don’t need to win and despite the visitors saying all the right things in the wake of their last performance if they were to go behind it’s difficult to place too much faith on their efforts to come back.

There are enough players in the Reading side who have enjoyed success over Leicester and with no question marks over their desire they should be backed to record a vital win at 15/8.
