It’s the Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round this weekend, and though there may be no Merseyside representation, every tie is filled with potential shocks and upsets.
With five of the Premier League’s biggest outfits away from home, we could see some cup classics over the next few days.
And for the first time ever, we’ve got two Non-League sides in the last-16, so I doff my cap to both Lincoln City and Sutton United!
But that’s enough build-up, let’s get stuck in…
Ladbrokes News: No Merseyside teams in action this weekend Tony, so where do you travel to in search of value this weekend?
Tony Scott: The John Smiths Stadium is where the value is.
Pep Guardiola will make wholesale changes to his Manchester City team as they take on promotion chasing Huddersfield.
LN: Can you make a case for either Lincoln or Sutton forcing a replay at least?
TS: I can’t for Lincoln, they’ve had their day in the sun, Burnley are brutal at Turf Moor as Champions elect Chelsea found out last weekend.
I fancy Sutton to score against Arsenal, whether it’s enough for a replay is another thing, but they have to take advantage with their 3G pitch.
Sutton have 36 points in the National League, they picked thirty of them up at Gander Green Lane!
LN: Give us the winner of the Cup at this stage…
TS: Chelsea with no European ties to distract them have a huge advantage against the other top teams, but if I’m looking at value, I’m sliding with Burnley at 20/1.
They should find themselves in the last-eight by Saturday teatime.
It’s all about the luck of the draw in the quarters but should they get a home tie, nobody will fancy a trip to Turf Moor.
I’ve backed them each way to take half odds if they reach the final.
LN: What are your favourite FA Cup memories?
TS: Being at the 1995 FA Cup Final with my Dad seeing Everton lift the cup.
Nothing will ever beat sitting on a wall on Scotland Road watching the team drive past holding the FA Cup a loft.
Family house parties, fantastic memories that I’ll take to my grave.
Hopefully this competition will be kind to my team in the future and i can take my son to another final.
