After squeezing into the EFL Cup Final this week, Jose Mourinho and Manchester United look to continue their route to the Emirates FA Cup showpiece this weekend.
Wigan are 16/1 to cause a famous upset.
A lot has changed since these sides last met in the 2013-14 Community Shield.
David Moyes was in charge of Man United for the first time, and the then-reigning Premier League champions took on FA Cup holders Wigan, who had shocked Manchester City that May.
And we all know what’s happened to United since then.
Despite reaching the EFL Cup final this week, United did see their unbeaten run end with a 2-1 loss to Hull.
It now means Mourinho’s men haven’t won their last three games, but in truth they should be far too strong for Wigan here.
In addition to a 33-place gap between the sides, history indicates only one outcome here.
Of the 18 meetings between the sides, United have won 17, netting 56 times.
And the Theatre of Dreams has been anything but for Wigan, who have lost all nine previous trips, conceding 32.
Joyce has guided his side to three straight wins in all competitions, but this term Wigan have been poor on the road, claiming just a trio of victories.
And with United unlikely to be fazed by that defeat to Hull, the 5/4 on a home win on the -2 handicap looks good value.
Marcus Rashford was handed a rare start on Thursday night, and should Mourinho persevere with the teenage superstar, then plenty will fancy the forward at 14/5 to net first.
And it appears that life in the Championship has doused the flames on Wigan’s Will Grigg, who has been limited to seven goals for the campaign. But we’re sure that won’t stop the Wigan faithful pouring in on the Northern Irishman to take a shock lead at 10/1.
