For the second successive season, London rivals Fulham and Tottenham have been paired together in the FA Cup. Tottenham progressed after a replay last year, but don’t be surprised if they seize their first opportunity this time around…

Match odds

Tottenham have won their last three clashes with Fulham, including completing a Premier League double over the Cottagers earlier this month, so odds of 5/4 on the Lilywhites earning a place in the final 16 are difficult to overlook.

Spurs were 2-1 winners when they visited Craven Cottage in October, a pivotal success in that it ended an eight-year wait for a league victory in west London.

Now that they have overcome that psychological barrier, the Champions League participants should deliver again at a ground where Fulham have defeated top-flight opponents just four times in a dozen attempts under Mark Hughes.

Fulham can be backed at 11/5, while the draw is offered at 9/4, however Tottenham’s record against other capital clubs has been impressive, as in addition to their triumphs over the Cottagers, they have won at Arsenal, held Chelsea and dumped Charlton out of the FA Cup.

Total goals

Fulham have found some goalscoring form in front of their own supporters recently, hitting a combined five in their successes against West Brom and Stoke.

Therefore, though five of the last seven collisions between the teams have had two goals or fewer, over 2.5 goals looks a shrewd selection at 5/6.

The league meetings finished 2-1 and 1-0 in Tottenham’s favour so 3/1 on Tottenham going through by a one-goal margin stands out as the obvious bet in the margin of victory market, while another 2-1 win for Harry Redknapp’s side can be backed at 7/1.

Spurs are likely to use this fixture as an opportunity to give some of his squad players a run out so consider Roman Pavlyuchenko, who netted against Fulham in the cup last season, as a potential first goalscorer at 6/1.

A £25 stake on Pavlyuchenko breaking the deadlock would provide a £150 profit. New customers can sign up here for a free £25 bet.
